Child-centred, playful, and inventive, Vivian’s books help children of divorce develop the courage to make peace with their new way of living. Through her writings, she encourages kids to be resilient and steadfast against negative input, helping them to find the positives in their experiences.
Her books are also an insightful resource for professionals, including teachers and therapists, who work with kids suffering from the trauma of divorce.
Having experienced emotional trauma herself as a child, Vivian’s writings are relatable to readers who also struggle with past trauma, and help them find a way to dig into their own personal healing by connecting to their inner guide and wisdom.
Vivian loves the cathartic nature of the creative process, and in addition to her work writing books for children of divorce, she is currently working on a historical fantasy for adults about child sacrifice during the time of the Inca Empire. Through time-travel and an exploration of the occult, this novel will invite the reader to embrace their own past and begin to live in alignment with their present personal truths.
Applying her years of experience and expertise as a life coach, Vivian challenges readers to move beyond their limiting beliefs, negative self-talk, and destructive patterns of behaviour, helping them gain greater resiliency and fulfillment in their lives.
— MY STORY
The best view of one’s dream is from beyond the cloud looking back…
A movement towards the dream is your mission…
During my early years, the written word became a passion and an escape from the emotional trauma of my tumultuous childhood.
Raised in the Roman Catholic faith, I steadfastly bought into the dogmatic ways of the church, announcing to my mother at an early age that I was going to become a nun.
But over the years, as the Catholic Church’s abominations came to light, my faith began to waver.
After being sexually molested by a family friend from a prominent Catholic family in my early teens, I turned away from organized religion altogether. Writing and journaling became my solace and healing.
Hooked by my passion for the craft, writing evolved into a creative expression.
I wrote and published a children’s book called Toni and the Dandelions, which was partly inspired by a book about world legends.
The book referenced the French term dent de lion, which caught my interest, as dandelion leaves have jagged edges like the tooth of a lion, and this got my creative juices flowing.
The book was printed, narrated, put to music on an audiotape, and accompanied by a 60-page teacher package. It was highly popular among young children.
Amidst this success, my life took another turn and landed me in a new profession.
Wanting to go back to school to earn a master’s in family therapy, a friend told me of a relatively new area of service – Life Coaching – which was attracting a lot of interest and popularity at the time.
I was immediately attracted to this profession, which helps people bridge the gap between where they are in the present and where they want to be in the future. It sounded so positive, and action based.
At this point, I began writing inspirational, imaginative, and empowering works, with a focus on helping people understand their own deeper needs.
My writing at the time consisted mostly of blogging and articles helping individuals to identify their goals and learn how to achieve them.
Life Coaching and experiential team building then became my focus and passion for about 30 years, till I neared retirement.
Around this time, I once again felt the pull to write creatively in a different form.
I transitioned into full-time writing and am currently working on a book about the Incan child sacrifices in Peru 500 years ago.
My interest in this subject began 10 years ago when I went to the ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru. I had already been aware of the strange and horrific practice of child sacrifice, and on the last day of my visit, I had a very emotional experience.
I felt that in a prior existence, I too had experienced the same dreadful ordeals, which these these children had.
My past has also included much world travel, including time spent with shamans in Ecuador, New Mexico, and Peru, and I’ve even spent time living in the jungle with some of Peru’s indigenous tribes.
These mind-expanding experiences, along with life’s ongoing lessons, continue to inspire my work.
As with all my writing, my hope for this new title is to surprise, entertain, and awaken readers like you, exposing you to things you might not be aware of, while encouraging self-discovery, confidence, and courage.
My writings can be somewhat difficult to digest at times, as they expose harsh truths about life, and often force readers to take a deeper look at themselves, but I hope you will be willing to come with me on that journey.
